Reiki II Class

Wow!

Back in November 2011, I completed my second level Reiki attunement. There is an interesting occurrence that happens amongst people who are about to go into their next level of energy workings. It seems, the entire week prior to participation involves a cleansing or releasing of stagnant energy in around the person’s body. This could be physically such as diarrhea or headache or sinuses draining; it also could be emotionally such as an emotional breakdown or breakthrough.

The symbol above is “Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen”

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is the Reiki symbol of unity, origin, connection.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen allows to break through the illusion of separation between all things, through both space and time. Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen allows to give Reiki treatments over distances in space and time.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen means: “the Human Being and the Spirit are One”.

This Reiki symbol consists or 5 condensed Kanji (partially overlapped) where some elements have been taken off in order to give a specific energy connotation.

Do you find yourself interested in learning more about Reiki?

Yes, show me the schedule for the first 3 Reiki classes before learning to become a Master Reiki Teacher or learning Celtic Reiki, Animal Reiki and RaSheeba Reiki (Ancient Egyptian Wisdom).

Look, you’ve seen ‘Star Wars’ and the talk of the Force; or better yet the classic movie ‘The Karate Kid’ and Mr. Miyagi clapping his hands and hovering them over Daniel-son’s injury to heal it. Yeah you can learn to do the same, it’s real.

Plus, with each Reiki class we have the opportunity to not only learn about it, but also become attuned by a certified Reiki Master and practice energy work with others in the class.

Insightful, educational, hands on/off learning and useful in our daily lives.

Youth Cooperative Effort

Ever wanted something really cool to happen, but knew it would take a group effort?

I watched these kids for a half hour collaborate their peer resources and develop a method of getting the Firefighters’ attention. First it was just a couple of kids becking and hollering at the Firefighters to shoot the water cannon so they could cool off (or maybe just see if they’d do it). Then more kids joined in and every once in awhile the Fire Truck would dowse them.

For some reason, I’m thinking creativity of two wee little tykes, the chant came.

And that chant came in chorus as the not much older kids came into play. Once the chilling effect of being briefly drenched became adaptive and enjoyable, they had that water cannon firing on cue.

Soak in the good times kids can create!

The Scarcity Tactic

High school and undergraduate college level education taught us the LAW OF SUPPLY & DEMAND. Where the price for a product or service is lower when the supply is high. Conversely, the price will be higher when supplies are low. The trick has always been to keep your inventory low and keep your prices up- without running out of stock and losing customers to another business.

Meet Suzi

Suzi is a librarian who also bakes some amazing goodies.

We participated in vendor bender last weekend where vendors of MLM’s and home crafted items displayed their goods in a miniature exposition style event. Suzi showed up with two tables full of baked desserts. When the doors opened for the public, it was a sight to see! People were heading straight back to her table (which was in the back of the room) to see what Suzi had created. Plus, her customers wanted to make sure they could purchase from a wide assortment. Evidently, Suzi has a great reputation in providing delicious assortments of baked goods.

As the afternoon progressed, Suzi was courteous in her customer service and efficient in her sales transactions. At the end of the day, as you can see above, Suzi sold out of nearly everything. In fact, I think some of those remaining treats in the bottom right picture had reservation names on them for customers to pick up on their way out the door as pre-paid items.

In Suzi’s case, the scarcity tactic works phenomenally well for her. Her customers know she only bakes a certain amount of mouth watering desserts. They also know she only sells her baked goods at these events.

Suzi knows from experience, her supply and demand equilibrium point. And she capitalizes on it!!

The Calorie Catch-Up Game

I’ve always been a breakfast person. Circa 2005, I decided to do a self-study and skip breakfast. I basically abused myself for 2 months with this hare-brained idea. I had such a hard time getting through the morning I started drinking red-neck cappuccino (coffee + chocolate milk) during the mid-morning. Lunch time consisted of a sandwich either from home, Subway or a diner. I didn’t eat much for a 5’ 8” 230 pounder (think 6” sub). I definitely couldn’t go without lunch though.

By the time I would get home at night, it was 10pm already (oh the life of an individual running a gym by himself, back then). Here’s the kicker. I would start raiding the cupboards eating anything and everything. I knew what I was doing. I tell my clients not to this. BUT I COULDN’T STOP! I was ravenous.

Luckily, food on my stomach helps me sleep. And I got fatter as time went on. So what did I learn from this “study”? My body was playing calorie catch up. Because I was depriving myself of calories during the day, which is also the highest calorie burning part of a 24 hour day, my body acted as an accountant. At the end of the day it calculated that I needed thousands of more calories that night to make up for the day and then a little extra for good measure.

Interesting? Yes.

Dumb? Of course, but it was an experiment.

Know anybody else that does this? If so, here’s the simple common sense answer to prevent or reverse this vicious habit. Shift calories to earlier in the day. So your biggest meal should be breakfast, then the next biggest would be lunch, and the smallest meal would be supper. Granted this is for people whose schedule only allows for three meals a day. By shifting your calories earlier in the day, you’ll have fewer cravings during the day and the uncontrollable kitchen raids at night disappear.

This isn’t ground breaking news, but it’s quite effective and it easy to do.

Drinking Coffee Side Effects

Insulin Resistant Belly / Cortisol Belly

Drinking coffee side effects include:

  balanced blood sugar

  fat burning

  sustained energy

  heartburn disappearing

  curbs appetite

  and boosts metabolism.

Well, that’s only if you have the right kind of coffee.

Most coffee isn’t organic, therefore you get chemical exposure. Chemicals lead to bloating and weight gain due to toxicity. More weight gain occurs with regular caffeinated coffee.  The spike and crash from caffeine creates a cascade of fat storing hormones.  On top of that, over roasted coffee is very acidic which leads to more bloat!

Amazing how one simple cup of Joe can have so many different health outcomes!

Reiki 1 Class: Masaru Emoto Rice Experiment

In September 2011 I took a Reiki I class as well as a Reiki I Animals class. Reiki Master Jen Springer had the class replicate the rice experiment of Masaru Emoto.

Jen suggested we send Reiki and positive thoughts to one bag of cooked rice, daily; the other bag of cooked rice was to receive our negative thoughts towards it’s existence, daily as well.

Being a rebel myself, I decided to see what happens with just one initial session of good vibes and bad vibes for each respective rice sample.

My one week results showed:

Above are both bags of rice side by side, the left picture is the front and the right picture is how they look when I flip them over to show the back side.

The left is the negative energy results and the right received Reiki and positive thoughts.

Upon closer look:

Negative Energy Front                                                    Positive Energy Front

Negative Energy Back                                                         Positive Energy Back

My expected result was that nothing would happen especially after only one session. I even forgot about the whole experiment the entire week until re-encountering the rice which was placed out of the way on a shelf.

Obviously my actual results were quite the contrary.

So what’s the take away message from this?

Certainly for me, it is that all those self-improvement books, seminars, videos and audios are for real. Each with a slightly different angle on the same premise.

Napoleon Hill, Wallace Wattles, Bob Proctor was about how thoughts do become things.

“The Secret” and it’s cast also covered how your thoughts shape your life.

Jim Rohn talked about the power of words and how to grammatically structure not only affirmations but everyday language to use.

Wayne Dyer talks about the power of  intentions among many other topics.

Many other well known authors and speakers will put their foot to your butt about where you are now is a direct result of what you have been doing in the past to get to this point.

The most applicable theory (I think) is called T.E.A.R.

Thought

Emotion

Action

Results

The idea is that many fail in manifesting their thoughts of want/ need because they missed the middle steps of either being Emotionally charged about what they have in mind (thought) or putting into Action their Emotionally charged Thoughts in order to receive/ experience Results.

The only counter theory I have about this is my take on what the Apocalypse of 2012 is really about…

Have Your Social Media Marketing Plan Get What You’re Throwing Out There, to Stick!

Ping Pong Peanut Butter Sandwich

The game is simple right?
You have a service or product to sell.
You keep pitching until something sticks.

Well, kinda. But not really.
You see those kids hovering in the background to the left?
They were the pro’s at this game.

They invested money. In fact, in a game of $1 per minute and unlimited supply of ping pong balls; these kids spent an average of $5-$10 each. Sum that up with 6 kids who were determined to figure out how keep improving their personal and all time event records and you get a frenzy of junior analysts and coaches.

The goal obviously was how to deliver each ping pong (in your case, your product/ service presentation),

in an unpredictable environment of being outside with wind and getting them to stick

onto the peanut butter covered bread slice (again in your case, your customers, clients, prospects and future prospects).

Results for Monty: Monty spends $1 dollar, thinks the one bounce technique is how the game is played and gets 5 ping pong balls to stick.
Results for the Kids: Commit to spending $5-$10 per person and join forces to cumulatively invest approximately $50 in the cause.
Understand that each round is an experiment and that with an open mind and ability to apply constructive criticism (suggestions) new achievements can be made. With each round there were successes and failures.

By the time I left, these kids had figured out to get 20+ ping pong balls to stick on the peanut butter bread slice.

Does Drinking Coffee Have Benefits?

Coffee health benefits depend on the coffee! If it’s burnt and over roasted, not organic, and filled with sugar then drinking coffee benefits won’t be present.

Coffee that is organic and infrared roasted in a way that keeps it alkaline will be a great source of anti-oxidants. Recent research is proving coffee may help type II diabetics, Parkinson’s, and certain cancers. We all know how coffee can help us stay alert, but new studies are showing coffee may help memory.

Coffee delivers more anti-oxidants than green tea. We were surprised when we heard that info because tea is always promoted as being super healthy.

Researchers think it’s the anti-oxidants in coffee that are helping type II diabetics regulate blood sugar levels. Very cool! Green coffee beans have about 1000 anti-oxidants, brewing adds another 300. Some of these anti-oxidants are unique to coffee alone!

Next time you enjoy some organic properly roasted coffee, smile and feel good about the anti-oxidants you’re getting.

In light of the chaos happening worldwide I vibed on putting in my water before heading to the gym this morning this affirmed concoction:

Rose being the of the highest vibration next to Lotus. Or “My purpose is to accept the highest vibration”

I’ve been using Copiaba oil on my feet first thing in the morning. I swear it helps balance my cortisol levels so that at night I’m actually tired and can fall asleep. When I don’t do it, I’m wired! -Jen Springer

Q&A’s on Facebook

Q:Are Pan-Away and Aroma-Sieze the best use for a very bum shoulder that won’t respond to massage or chiropractic? Should he add the V6 to rub it in better straight to the shoulder?
A:Shoulders are tricky ;0 My shoulder was due to liver and gallbladder issues. When I cleansed them it helped. I also like lemongrass, balsam and copiaba along with PanAway and AromaSiez

Q:I have a front-loading washing machine that is constantly growing mold…did you say add thieves in the laundry soap for mold? Thanks!
A:Oh I had one of those once, it stunk. I always had to keep the door open between cycles. I added 1 cap full of Thieves to each load. I also cleaned the rubber seal with Thieves. No more stinky!

Q:What oils specifically are great for pets? Dogs? Cats? I noticed that my dog LOVES lavender, but what else?
A:The oils for dogs and horses are the same as humans. Cats, until you become very proficient, use flower oils and resins.
